Two Year-4 students (2024/25) won the Student Project Awards at HKSYU

Congratulations to our two fresh graduates (Year-4 students in 2024/25), Ho Tsun San Jansen and Liu Sum Wai Elif, winning the Student Project Awards (SPA) 2024/25! The award presentation ceremony was held on 15 November 2025 at HKSYU.

Ho Tsun San Jansen, a Year-4 student of BA (Hons) in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2024/25, is the winner of the SPA with his documentary produced in JOUR450 Honours Project. The documentary is about a tranquil island, Ap Chau, a nearly forgotten island in the northern part of Hong Kong. The documentary presents the hidden villages behind the prosperous city through the oral narratives and daily life records of the islander.

Liu Sum Wai Elif, a Year-4 student of BA (Hons) in Media Design and Immersive Technology in 2024/25, is the winner of the SPA with her creative work from the MDIT404 Capstone Project. The project promotes the unique Hong Kong cultural practice of Villain Hitting and emphasises its importance under the Canal Road Flyover. By transforming Villain Hitting into modern narratives via animation, the project offers a fresh perspective that resonates with today's audiences by creating characters, some animated videos, and a video simulating the designed augmented reality (AR) game.
