About the Programme
BA-MDIT is a theory-cum-practice-based programme. It is designed to give students extensive knowledge of the principles of media design, up-to-date professional knowledge and techniques in immersive technologies and an understanding of the processes engaged in the creative industries. It also aims to provide students with the analytical, critical, and ethical thinking skills required to conduct research and understand the needs of the audiences in virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) content and the VR/AR market. Students can also expect to learn fundamentals in entrepreneurship in order to apply what they have learned to create VR/AR projects with business potential for the market

Internship and Capstone Project
Professional Internship course in Year-3 enable students to apply their knowledge and skills to the business world. In Year-4, students also have to undertake a 3-credit Capstone Project which include research in content needs, target audience, content components, flow charts, storyboards, interactive narrative script, production schedule, and deliverables. This project can pave the way for students to innovate VR/AR products as well as business projects.
Employment Pathways and Career Prospect
Proficiency in immersive technologies is among the most highly sought skill sets in the digital era. A diverse and dynamic range of job opportunities are open to graduates from the BA-MDIT programme. Graduates may work as content providers, transmedia designers, VR/AR application developers, user interface/user experience designers/developers, digital content writers/editors, project management, exhibition curators, as well as multi-media producers in the areas of art direction, branding and advertising, content marketing, digital marketing, game designs, broadcast news and so on. Graduates may establish their own start-ups as entrepreneurs and enter VR/AR content creation businesses in education, entertainment, industry application and so on. Graduates may also pursue further studies in a variety of postgraduate programmes, including in the fields of journalism and communication, advertising, creative media as well as entrepreneurship.
